Arizona

Welcome to the Arizona State Video page.

Watch these videos and be inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

Arizona begins with an interview of Debbie Jordan. Debbie has long believed that poverty is the breeding ground for war. While many people subscribe to the notion that living in a peaceful society is the ultimate goal, Debbie set out to write down her thoughts on how to do it. Watch this video and meet the author who writes about peace, especially as it relates to poverty. See how this author is doing her part to help her community, the community of the world, by writing down her thoughts on how we can all get along and the steps necessary to accomplish it.

Next we meet Ann Malone. As a mom and wife going about her life, when she found out a homeless man was living behind the wall at the back of her house she didn't give it much thought. Her neighbor had called the police and that was that. But four months later she realized the man was still there. This auspicious beginning was how she got involved and founded an organization to mobilize and connect businesses and homeowners to work with the police and the city to effect change. Watch this video of an amazing woman who is making a huge difference in her community, in her city and ultimately changing the way communities think about and work with the problem of the homeless around them. Be Inspired!

The next interview is of Carole Bartholomeaux, a community activist. Growing up with her mother Carole had no choice but to be involved. With her own difficult marriage behind her, Carole has become a champion for battered women and is now very involved in helping both victims as well as the police who are the first to respond and deal with them. Watch this video and be inspired by one woman who believes that anyone can make a difference, can change the lives of many and who doesn't just talk about it, but is doing something about it every day

Moving on we find Mara Defilippis, CEO of the Green Chamber of Commerce. As a vendor Mara was frustrated that there was only one time a year she could network with other like minded vendors. Seeing a need and frustration from other vendors she decided to take action herself. Watch this video and be inspired by one woman who saw a need in her community and did something about it. This is what America is all about, moving communities, cities, states and our country forward.

In Mesa we find an interview of Javier "Fabian" Cota. Arizona has gotten a lot of media coverage over the years regarding immigration. But rarely is it seen from the police point of view. Watch this video and learn what the president of the Police Association thinks of this problem and how they are saving taxpayer dollars while still finding a way to deal with the problem.
