Welcome to the South Dakota State Video page.
Watch these videos and be inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things.
We begin with an interview of Jane Keller, nominated by her daughter for the multitude of ways this South Dakota native helps people in her community, watch this video to see how Jane decided to get into the hard of hearing signing education field, spends another day or two a week interpreting, and started Team Huntress, a venue for women to learn how to enjoy the great outdoors by teaching them the proper way to approach all the outdoor activities that are available.
Next we meet Bea and Herschel Premack. Bea has spent over 50 years being involved with her community in Aberdeen South Dakota. Her passion for the arts have resulted in a community rich with culture and a growing presence for all of Aberdeens inhabitance to enjoy. Herschel's family has been in Aberdeen for centuries and his life has centered around the community and Synagog. Together, these two have been more than members of their community, they have been active participants.
Lawrence Diggs is an Author and Vinegar Expert. After moving to South Dakota he found a community that embraced him but needed something to help stem the tide of people who were leaving the area. Thus, the International Vinegar Museum was born.
Jim Beddow started a non profit company to help rural communities focus on development and changing to adapt to our ever changing country. Meet this man who left a high paying career to focus on American communities, especially small rural towns, and be inspired by what can be done to reengage your community.
The Journey through South Dakota continues with Quadir Aware. This refugee turned immigrant tells us of an amazing journey of how coming to America he faced many challenges in his community.
